Permit Expediting for NYC Plumbers
Most of a plumber’s week in New York City is the work. The rest is the paperwork that lets the work stay legal: a plumbing permit, a sprinkler filing, a DEP tap or sewer permit, a DOT street opening, a Limited Alteration Application, or a violation that has the job stopped.
S & M Expediting, Inc. prepares and expedites those filings. We are a New York City certified M/WBE. We are Class 2 filing representatives. We do not install pipe, sprinklers, or any other construction work. The licensed plumber or fire suppression contractor still does the trade work. Where a design applicant files in DOB NOW, we prepare the application for that applicant to submit for review. We track plan review and stay with the job through permit and sign-off.
We work in all five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
The six jobs
- Plumbing permits DOB plumbing filings on a Limited Alteration Application or on a larger alteration or new building.
- Sprinkler permits Fire suppression piping filings, and when that work sits on an alteration instead of a limited application.
- DEP water and sewer permits Taps, wet connections, relays, and sewer house connections. Water and sewer only.
- DOT street and sidewalk permits Street opening and sidewalk permits when the job opens the street or sidewalk.
- Limited Alteration Applications The LAA plumbers and fire suppression contractors file in DOB NOW for work that does not include construction.
- Violations and stop work orders DOB violations and stop work orders on plumbing jobs, and the filings that have to move before work starts again.
